The controls for reverse are under your foot, just push forward or backward. Cutting in reverse, however, necessitates turning the ignition key one click further. No big deal, I don't do much mowing backwards. I guess that could seem to be complicated to some, but it seems fairly straightforward to me.
Anyway, I love the mower. After getting off my bigger tractor, this one seems like a small sports car!
