I did a search for this, but can't seem to bypass my incompetance. I thought Junkman had some postings and pics on a home built tow behind lawn vac. Where can I find that info?

I don't think it's home made as I assisted him in getting it shipped from the west coast to the east coast to Junk's home, and he hasn't assembled it as of yet that I am aware of. I may even need to fly out to CT to help him get it put on the Kubota. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

If it isn't 70 degrees yet in CT he won't go out in the barn for too long.

Hey Junk will you get to use that gadget this summer? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

When doing a search, be sure to set the Date Range to "All Posts", It defaults to only 1 week, so often you'll get no hits.

Okay, then! I'll try it agin! And I don't blame Junkman for the temperature issue! Especially if he can use it as a means of getting help for a project! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

When you come out to help with the assembly, you can pick up the snow plow that I have donated to the PineRidge Tractor Association....
I have a tow behind Cyclone Rake that I had used on my Bolens tractor, and that is what I believe that was referred to. It is a good unit, but has some minor deficiencies that have since be resolved by the manufacturer. I purchased mine about 3 years ago, and they were going through some design changes as a result of unforeseen problems with the older design. These changes are in the type of snaps that they used in the canvas bags. A new bag is about $80 and will make the older units work just like the newer units. They cost $1125 for the smaller unit and $1425 for the larger Commercial unit. The difference is a 5 HP engine vs. 8 HP engine and a larger collection bag. In the spring they usually have a special with around $150 off. The only thing that I don't care for is the "Universal" mower deck boot is a do it yourself cutting project. The mower deck doesn't come with the unit either, it is an extra. If you can get the factory boot for your deck, it will fit better and work just as good as there "fits all boot"....

Gerard,
I have the Commercial version of this vacuum. It works very well. One thing that occurs here in this sandy soil is that it does pick up the the sand. As Junkman said, the attachment to the mower deck is not as good as I would like. I took a pc of alum and riveted to the deck to cover the hole between the deck and the attachment. With the sand, the leaf container can get very heavy when you fill it and that makes for some heavy lifting when you dump it. I would like to see the dumping improved and if I get the time I may try a couple of things. If you have a well established lawn you may not have such a problem but I pick up a lot of sand making the load very heavy.

I have been looking at the leaf vacuum made by Country Home Products, it seems to be a good unit, they even allow you to use it for 6 months and if you do not like it you can send it back and get a full refund! When you get to the web site put cursor on (1)DR Power Equipment and then scroll down to (2)Leaf and Lawn Vacuum and you are there! web page
