Tractor
Kubota B7800
Does anyone have any thoughts on this model? I am considering one. I have a 3 acre yard & 15 acres of clear field to mow. The tractor is 4 wheel drive, includes a 5' finish & 4' brush hog. $4k

Welcome to TBN!
The price is right if everything looks good on it. However, it's a bit small for what you have to do. You'll be at mowing a long time to get 15 acres brush cut.
The 1714 is an older Kioti model, and I've not heard of any problems with them, they have a good engine.
Just for the price, I'd buy it and get a larger one later on when you can. Make sure everything is operational, no major leaks, no major smoking after warm up, look for evidence of any radiator problems. Make sure you run the tractor for at least 30 minutes to let it get to full operating temo. If there's any overheating issues, it will show within that time.
Sounds like a bargain though. That engine should go for near 5,000 hours.

Two dogs,
I just got a 1714 a few months ago. I got her torn down for a oil leak at the front cover. Not a bad leak but I am a fickle person and don't like leaks.
Like John said its a bit small for the acreage you state but a terrific tractor to operate. I ran the wheels off mine seeing what it'll do and am quite happy. Real good for the tight areas and a great back-up when you do decide to get something bigger. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Thanks for the information. I have had my heart set on a Kubota for about a year. I ran across the Kioti name, and I think that I am going to go that route. Based on what both posts have mentioned, I am probably going to hold off on the LB1714. I have a '61 Triumph that I am going to sell so that I can buy something bigger. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

If I were you, I'd advertise that Triumph in Hemmings Motor News to get the international coverage. Those cars, along with MG, VW Ghia, etc. are very popular overseas, and they'll come here to pay you a whole lot more than you can get here in the States as a rule.
I sold an MG and a Ghia a number of years ago to people from the Netherlands. Unfortunately, it was a long time ago, and I lost the contact information.
