Parts for my tractor are starting to be in short supply. When I discovered that the headlights assembly needed replacement, I could find only one, so I fabricated an assembly to house a pair of LED lights. Initially, I wired the new lights through an addon switch with an inline fuse. Checking every wire in the harness I found that factory switch's two ON settings resulted in only 9 to 11 volts at the headlight end of the harness so I could not use that switch. One wire in the harness has 12.7 VDC at all times. Not being an EE, I fail to understand why the voltage is stepped down. Last night when turning off the replacement switch, it felt warm. Since this is a switch that I simply found in my workshop, it may need to be replaced.
