Thanks for your responses. The LB1914 was the first compact that I looked at more than once. I've looked at just about all of the colors out there, but I keep coming back to the Kioti. Features for the price seem hard to beat. As far as the gear versus HST question. I think Ken Sweet has the solution to that. Once we get past the mayhem of the holiday season I'll
put in a little seat time and see for myself. I'm not that far away from Munfordville.
Early in my research I talked to an older gentleman that has been selling and servicing tractors for many years and he was quick to point out the advantages of the 3 point mounted rear finish mower. He cited easier maintenance and repair, increased ground clearance when doing other chores [just detach it!] and why waste a perfectly good 3 point? He was honest enough to say that a midmount is easier to work around obstacles, but practice with a rear mount goes a long way too. My convictions favor the rear mount. I'm about 95% sure the LB1914 will be the way to go, although I think I still owe myself a ride on an HST unit.
Again, Thanks for your responses! Happy Holidays!
