Hi guys,

So i have a really really random question for you.
I have a generator that uses a Kioti(daedong) 927cc 3 cylinder diesel which worked beautifully until struck by lightning which blew the regulator and burnt the colour off all the wiring.
After quite a bit of searching the web i found that the lb1914 seem to use the same 6 wire regulator So.. what i was hoping is that someone out there might be able to tell me what each of the colours go to from the regulator so that l i can make a new loom.

So far i think ive got:

Black - the chassis
Red to alternator
Yellow to alternator
Blue red stripe -? Im guessing constamt 12v maybe?
Blue white stripe- some kind or light or sensor maybe?
Green white stripe- i have no idea about

The old one

I know im clutching it straws here but you guys are my last hope and any info would be very welcomed. I did try contacting my local dealer and even the Australian importer or Kioti but the reckon they never sold engines that small so dont have manuals or wiring diagrams.

Thanks again for you help,
Chris

I think you are looking in the wrong place. You need to find who made the generator, not the motor. Our Kioti tractors have small 12v DC alternators with internal regulators, like most automobiles do.

I assume you have a larger generator for AC power? Since lightning fried this thing, you probably need to make sure the generator rotor and stator windings and brushes are still OK. There are a couple of different generator configurations: brushless and with brushes for the rotor. You can find several schematics online but you need to know what kind of machine you have.

Hi,
thanks for getting back to me. I have tried the manufacture and they told me as its an engine part i need to speak to the manufacture, who sat it was kubota but after contacting kobota they had no idea. When i seacrhed the web for what it could be as it looks like a kubota D850 i found that daedong were the original people that cast the engines for kubota and as it had koran text stamped on the oil filler cap i gave kioti a call as they are daedong here in australia and confirmed that the regulator is their stock which i was able to order the part which took 3 weeks from Korea to receive and it just like the one that fried.
What it is used for in this generator is to charge the starting battery and allow the generator to sync ac wavelengths with through the gen control panel to the inverter. There is quite a sizeable electric motor hanging off the end of the engine to generate electricity in 240v but the info im after is just around the 2wire 12v alternator that goes to that regulator and which wires go from there. Believe me I definitely understand that tractor wiring will be different however as its really just about the basic wiring of the engine that bit shouldn't he too different, just need to know really where the blue wire with red stripe as connected on a tractor and also the green wire with white stripe and then i can figure out where to put them on my generator with a lesser risk of blowing the regulator and having to wait another three weeks for another one.

The only place I've found any info online about this engine is here on this marvellous forum which is why im here harrasing you lovely folk and hoping i might be able to make the best of someone's generosity if possible please?

Best regards,

Chris
