lb90 backhoe

I own a 2001 LB 90 tlb. It seems to have something out of alinement on the backhoe. It will not dig straight. Does anybody out there have the same problem? I have had the boom replaced once by the dealer, it improved but its still not quite right. I can set up a string line under the boom , and it runs about 3/4 inch out when I move the bucket in and out. Any advice will be nice. Thanks

The lb stands for loader backhoe. The lb series is replacing the e series They offer lb75, lb90, lb110. and a lb115. The lb 90 I have is basicly the same as my old 555E, but it has more horsepower, and improved hydrolics. I think the problem is the dipper stick. Mine is an extendahoe.

I just put a bushing in the dipper stick of a freind s 555. The ford place gave him the wrong bushing size and his mechanic put it in. The boom had a bow in it bcause of the 2 different size bushings. Also check the pivot pins on the swing when they wear they can caus some funny things to happen in conjunction with the stick. It may be an eight of an inch off at the slew pins and at the end ogf the bucket 2 inches.

Thanks for the help. I think I have pinned it down to the dipper stick. The bushings are pretty tight as it has only 1700 hrs. on it. The main boom seems straight, but if I put a string line up in line with it, the dipper is off to one side. When I extend the ex-hoe it gets worse. I think the pin hole in the dipper is not square. Also, if I put a level on the bucket pin it reads level when it is retracted, but its not level when it is all the way out. I am supposed to meet with a factory rep. in the next week or two. It don't bother me unless I am digging footings.

I have some more info on the lb. The factory rep. looked at the machine and said he would have to contact the factory. To make a long story short the factory man admitted having these problems in europe, but that we would have to dissasemble the backhoe and check with long rods through the pin holes. I have yet to see any build specs. I think they have a big problem as this is the second boom that isn't straight. I wish there was a way to compare different mfgs. tolerances.

Hope they find out the problem.
My 84" MMM on my NH TC35D was fabbed up wrong, I had to prove it to the service man.
Factory gave me whole new mower rather than switching deck shells.

I fixed one the otherday for a local man with my line boring machine i built. the the bushing bosses on the one he was working on were bored out of alignment. I leveled the whole machine up with a bubble and then tacked a straight piece of barstock to the top of the boom and ran 2 plumb bobs one on each side. i found out how much i needed to offset my bar then i attached my bar end and started. this one was off on the boom, but my mechanic friend told me he had one in earlier that had it in the bushing of the stick. He told me he was getting the factory reps to look how i fixed it and see if they agree on the fix.

Thanks for the info Taylor, I knew I wasn't the only one who noticed the problem. Im interested in how you fixed that one. I have considered taking my boom to a machine shop but your method may be better. About how much would this cost? Thanks again.
