J.D./4115
I have a J.D. Compact 4115 that is leaking diesel. The leak is coming from well above the bottom of the tank, filter and pump. There is a line, with a couple of hoses, above all of that, that I have no idea what they are for, but that's where the leak is coming from. I've taken off the two short hoses there, finding no bad connection or split lines (maybe 1/8" inside diameter). The "pipe" fitting continues to drip. It had never leaked before, and only started recently, having had no problem last year, and all winter. Pictures, attached, show the area where the leak is. Any ideas why this would be occurring would be greatly appreciated.

OK - last year my Kubota developed a fuel leak. It was in the fuel return line. Fuel pump delivers more fuel than the tractor can use - so there is a return line going from the pump back - all the way - to the fuel tank.

Bottom line - eight year old fuel hose and chicken s-h-i-t hose clamps. Replaced the hose and got good hose clamps - - fuel leak solved.

OOsik is correct.. injector return lines.. old lines & crappy clamps..they "stretch".. or take your chances & reuse, just get NEW LINE.
Its NOT a standard size.. ITS METRIC.. like a 6mm??
Parts store will have it.. if theres a way.. TAKE the FITTING w/ you..

oosik and the pumpguysc, Thank you. I did find that one of the injector hoses was deteriorated and the source of the leak. I've obtained new diesel graded lines and am installing them (much stronger hose/line than original), with good hose clamps. J.D. shop had the full diagram of the entire fuel line feeds, unlike what I could find on the J.D. website that did not show the injector feed lines. Of course, they did not have the parts, not even the right size hose clamps (had to go to an automotive supply). It now makes sense, except that there would still be enough pressure to keep dripping that high above the level of the tank. Oh well, 1/2 an oil pan full of diesel, over night, and the new hose sections and clamps should stop the leaking. "Learn something new every day".

Way to go. Glad to see that you could handle it yourself. Makes a guy feel good to know he can do it himself. On mine - it was not the hose that was so bad but the type hose clamps Kubota choose to use. They were the wire clamps with the two ears that you squeeze together to loosen. They simply didn't have the force to keep the hose on the steel pipe. H E L L will freeze over before the replacement clamps loosen and fall off.
