Leaking fuel filter shutoff

Finally freed the shut off for the fuel filter but now it leaks just a little as i am sure the "O" ring is old and dry. Looked for just an "O" ring to replace but can't find one and i can't see spending $50 for a replacement fuel bowl and shutoff. Anyone have a good source or suggestion.

If you can't find the o-ring you can get the fuel bowl assembly from one of the dealers on the forum such as Danny Parker or Hoye

Don't know whether you have a Harbor Freight in your area or not but if you do they have o-ring kits in metric and inch size. They are $10 or less kits I think. I'm assuming your talking about the o-ring on the fuel valve and not on the filter bowl. The kit wouldn't have one large enough for the bowl.

I did look on Hoye's site but only found the whole assembly...seems a waste to buy a new assembly for an "O" ring... maybe I will take it to NAPA and see what they can find in the way of an O ring

Winston ...thanks for the suggestion as I will buy the kit as it would be good to have around and besides i have been looking for an excuse to go over there ..one opened 2 months ago not too far away.

My Harbor Freight is about an 80 mile round trip. Wish I had one closer But a local Hardware store and NAPA. has always had any O-Ring Metric or standard I've ever needed. As for Harbor Freight I made sure I signed up for thier Weekly Store Sales Email so when something comes up Dirt Cheap I'm in need of I'll make the trip.

Thanks Calif ....I am waiting for Danny to send me an invoice and i will buy O rings from him. I would rather look around at Harbor Freight ...they are good for cheap tools that i don't need often.

HF mail order is not that good the sales are not the same and stuff does not go on sale as often online or in the catalouge as the store and when it does it is not as cheap, usually 10-15% more in the catalouge or online vs the store.
