While I was working on another problem, I discovered that I was leaking diesel fuel! At first it was the leaking from the hose connection at the bottom of the fuel pump. That moved to the hose connection at the top of the fuel pump. Then it moved to the lever that allows one to removed the air from the system( when the fuel filter is replaced), for that leak, I replaced the seal and O-ring. Well, seems by doing that I disturbed that hose that connected the fuel filter assembly to the engine. I wasn't rough working on any of these repairs, I'm guessing leaks show first where it's easier to escape and then move to the next weakest "link". NOW, it seems to be weeping out from where the wires that power the fuel pump enter. I thinking if I can clean and dry the area around where the wires enter, I could seal it with Permatex Ultra Black Maximum Oil Resistance RTV Gasket Maker. I have to wait till it warms up a bit, it freezes at night around here. Has anyone else had this problem? I'm hoping I don't have to replace my fuel pump at this time! If you look at the picture, my fuel pump is zip-tied to the grey hydraulic pressure line (the other side from the oil filter). Any suggestions would be appreciated!
