Hello,
I have a drip/leak in one of my quick connect fittings on my power beyond kit on my JD 4700. What is wierd is that the leak is in a connector that is NOT being used. I have the back hoe on the tractor and the leak is from the connectors that I would use to allow the hydraulic oil to flow back into the tractor if the back hoe was not mounted.
There is a rubber cap that fits into the fitting but it does not stop the leak. I have tried to tighten the fitting without much success due to tight space and wrenches being to small. On the other hand the leak is from the INSIDE of the quick connect not a joint so I'm not sure anything is loose. The leak is a drip drip drip when the back hoe is being used. I guess the hyrdraulic flow to the backhoe triggers the leak.
In the past I have not noticed the leak since I have been working in dirt. Lately I have been working on my road and that is when I noticed the leak. The leak could have been there from day one as far as I can tell.
Is a drip normal from quick connects that are NOT being used? How in the heck do you stop the leak?
Thanks....
