I have a ck20 with aKB2365 backhoe. I have always had some hydraulic leaks at the manifolds. I have changed quite a few o-rings on some of the valves. I have not changed the ones under the the joysticks. This afternoon I pressure washed so I can finally get to the bottom of where these leaks are coming from. I am going to pull the joystick base plates tomorrow and try to change the o-rings under those pins as it appears there is some fluid seaping. I was just wondering if anyone out there has had similar problems or has any info or recommendations for me.

Thanks,
Steven

I have a KB2375, which may use the same controls as yours. Kioti did use three different sets of controls though, as I found out when trying to get one of my blocks working correctly but I never had any leaks. There isn't much there as far as seals. The top and bottom of each block have an o-ring and nylon backup washer sealing the spool shaft. There are o-rings between each block sealing the fluid passages. If you can find the leak, you'll know what seals to replace. When you take it apart and have the o-ring out, make sure the spool just fits the block bore. There should be no slop because it's just barely a clearance fit.

Well I spent all day replacing o-rings and learning the tricks of installation and removal. Most of the o-rings were either crushed or cut. Some had pieces that had gotten under the nylon washer. This unit only has 200 hours on it. Should the o-rings already be worn out. Actually, the guy I got this unit from last November only had 67 hours and had leaks then? He thought it was just one o-ring, but after my thorough going over it appears that most of them were bad, some much worse than others. The one with the ball bearings is now sticking when I push forward or down with that rod? I will take it apart tomorrow and make sure I got everything put back correctly. Would overfilling have caused any of these problems or using straight tractor hydraulic fluid instead of multitrac or equivalent? Hope to be dry soon. I have to be up and running by tomorrow afternoon, I have a chipper coming that I have to be able to unload.

I can't imagine overfilling causing the problem. The bh just recieves the pressure that is pumped to it. I'm sure different oils have different qualities but don't think that would have caused the seals to crush or be cut. I'd check the spool shafts and make sure they aren't pitted or scored. I bet the bh sat outside uncovered and the shafts could have taken some weather. Just as the cylinder rods on the fel would tear up a seal if pitted or scored but they are chromed to give them extra life. I don't believe the spool shafts are chromed and may get damaged easier.
