My suggestion is, after lightening your wallet for whatever repair you do, I suggest changing the hydraulic fluid more often. Your corrosion was / is caused by contaminated fluid and to a lesser extent you not working the tractor hard enough to drive the moisture out of the fluid. You get entrained moisture in the fluid, you get corrosion. Simple as that.
