I had the FEL off this spring to do some field cutting for the neighbor. This is the 3rd time I have had it off to make cutting his fields a little easier (some trees I have to get around).
Put the FEL back on and now I have 2 of the QD's at the junction box (what ever you call it) under the right floor board dripping. They only drip when connected. Before reconnecting I took some brake cleaner and cleaned out the female ends that are attached to that box/controller.

2 of the 4 are dripping, not a lot but enough. Are there o-rings in the female ends? Wondering if I damaged them. Can you replace the o-rings or do I need to replace the couplers?
If I have to replace the couplers can I replace only the female ends?

Thing that sucks is it is the inside 2 couplers and it looks like I have to remove the outside 2 to get a wrench on the inside ones.

Thanks for any advice on this one

Yes there are o rings inside the female couplers that can be replaced, they could have been damaged , or the brake cleaner could have dried them out. Just use a dental pick or such and remove move them, clean the inside of the coupler and grove it sets in and replace with a new o ring.

Thanks, any idea what size the o-rings are? I think those couplers for the FEL are 3/8" couplers?

Brakleen and rubber O-rings don't play well together. Usually rubber components swell from its use. If you have to use it air dry with compressed air to remove residue right after use.
Both ends of QDs should be capped when not in use to prevent dirt from entering, especially the female ends.

Yea, I did blow them out afterwards with air. I now might be thinking the o-ring is missing in the one or I damaged it. I had dust caps on but 2 of them got torn out when I was cutting this field. Tons of larger briars.

Any ideas the size of the o-ring?

AND start using WD40 to clean them, instead on brake cleaner!

Another possible source. If they are leaking when the tractor is shut off and no hyd pressure I wouldn't worry about it. If they are leaking during use, that's different.

So next time maybe cable tie a couple of small plastic bags to the entire cluster of stationary QD caps to keep them from getting ripped loose/off.

Take one of the other QD's O-rings to a local auto store, they should have a selection to choose from, or a hydraulic shop or tractor dealer......

If you take the old o-rings to match-up in a auto-parts store, it is very hard to visually determine the exact size match. Go ahead and get the closest sizes that you can match, might be more that one size that looks right. It takes less than 1mm difference in size to still leak. Don't ask how I know, except my third trip to the parts store finally matched to size and stopped the QD leaks.

I ordered a bag of the double seal x-profile o-rings from McMaster-Carr for my 1/2" quick couplers. They seem to last longer. If the connection rotates while under pressure it will tear up the o-ring. Sometimes my backhoe attachment does that.
