Excuse the lack of terminology but here goes: at the base of the shifters it started leaking pretty bad when i was doing some grading.. i even saw some yeloowish type liquid at some point, cleaned it up a bit.

at the same time i was experiencing an issue with the 3pt whereas, with the box blade down and pushing the dirt in reverse, it (box blade or 3pt) sometimes wouldn't want to come back up to the full upright position...

alot of tinkering with the draft and position levers could have caused this as well, **** i was confused so the tractor started acting the same. well, anyways the simple question i have is: could this leakage affect the hydraulics in the 3pt??

If fluid is leaking out, water has probably been leaking in. Check your fluid level and condition. If it is overfull, there may he water in the fluid. The fluid will be milky looking, if water contaminated.

Most newer tractors use a trans/ hydralic fluid, the transmision and hydralics share the fluid.

If there is water in it, then you will need to replace the fluid and filters, flush the system and repair the leak.

Thanks Dr. Dave.
This just seemed to occur over the last few days, so water going in shouldnt be an issue although it does look a bit milky. I don't know how the hydraulic fluid gets to that point where the shifters are. This tractor is 1998 Chinese. I did remove the first 1-2-3-4-R shifter and found a bad gasket and just replaced it now with some silicone. The other one was good. Hopefully it will stop that leak.. not sure how the 3pt though is affected by it. db

From your last photo, it sure looks like the oil is contaminated with water. You should drain it and replace with fresh fluid of manufacturers specification. Since it is all gear and Chinese, you may not even have a hydraulic filter, but if you do, change that also. The water may have affected the level of the fluid (too high) which is why it leaked when on a slope. The hydraulic fluid may be in a common sump with the transmission and rear end, so it could affect your 3 PH. I hope the hydraulic pump hasn't been affected by the water. If you have a filter, it may be stopped up with trash.

Thanks and noted- for later on in the day to look into that particular issue. I did drain sump on lift assembly and all looked good and replaced all. next, i tried to raise the gannon and it went again- 1/2 up.. removed the gannon and tried to raise it and it raised all the way up..

Under too much load it pulls this rod out- activating the Draft (?)
Clearly, when I raise the 3pt, all is ok until this is being pulled out by the weight.

Trying to find how to adjust it.

Well, just in case anyone comes across this:

the arm with the nut visible: loosening the nut toward the rear along with the sleeve (comes after the nut toward the back) - basically did the trick.

thanks for the input guys.
