Leaky JD 75 FEL Control Box

I have a John Deere 950 with a 75 front end loader on it. The bucket control piston is leaking badly and I would like to find parts to rebuild both pistons and freshen up the control box.

Where can I get parts for this?

Is there an online parts manual that shows an exploded view of the control?

Lastly any pointers? Working on hydraulics is new to me but not mechanics in general.

You can view parts catalog at JDparts.com. I couldn't locate a ind hyd control valve in the PC #1726 for a 75 FEL. Is loader controlled by tractor scv's?

The loader is controlled by a box independent of the tractor mounted on the FEL and fed oil from the central reservoir of the tractor.

That does not sound like a factory set up, but rather something a previous owner installed.

In fact, I did the same thing to our 950 in 1991. The factory joy stick under the seat was the only thing on the tractor that never operated as it should, too many linkages, packing etc. I finally got sick of it and installed a Prince two circuit valve with PB directly on the FEL. I can't find any photos of mine, do you have photos of yours.

Is your problem in the cylinders or the valve body?

The mounting bracket looks homemade and now that you say that I think it is an aftermarket unit. It is leaking around the cylinder in the valve body that controls the bucket. I don't see a name on it but there is a tag with numbers. I'll try and post a picture

Does Prince still make these or is there another company that offers something I could use if I can't get parts?

Are you talking about the spool in the valve that moves in and out?

If it is leaking, some spools have o-rings and all of the spools are a precision fit and not replaceable.

Just to follow up I pulled the control valve off and found that it is made by Prince, Upon taking it apart I found that the front o-ring was ragged and the seal looks worn so I'll be calling Prince tomorrow AM to see about parts. Thanks for all the help!
