BX2200 LOADER,60
Hello everyone,I have not posted in a while, been very busy.I am now coming up on 300 hours with my 3 year old BX2200 and have been extremly satisfied with its performance. My question is i have a front tire(turf type) that loses air over over a 2 to 3 week period.I have taken the wheel and tire off the tractor and submerged it in a tub of water with no luck in finding the leak.I am thinking of using a product like fix a flat to seal this mysterious hole.
Is using something like this acceptable with tractor tires?
Thanks in advance. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

First..replace the valve core. They go bad after a while..normally result in a slow leak.

Cooler weather will cause your tires to lose pressure (applies to your vehicles as well). You can expect the pressure in your tires to drop several pounds. Once Winter comes, the temperature remains cold and you've probably got the inflation to where it needs to be. As the ambient temperatures will be stabilized, shouldn't see too much loss after that.

However, I'd still replace the core as a first step...

Take the tire down to the local gas station and have them fix it. It's well worth the $10-$15.

I had a front tire that kept loosing air. Tried slime, it didn't stop the leak. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Finally bought and put tubes in both front tires. I have not had a leak since. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
I did wear them out in three years though. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

We like tubes, they hold against dead furrows curbs and more.

Tubes are fine. Fix a flat is not. Changing the Valve Stem is a very good suggestion.

I have Berryman's in my front tires because I had a slow leak after one day in the woods. Don't have it in the rear's because I didn't have enough that day. It fixed my problem.

I had the same problem with my Polaris ATV. Thorns were the culprit. Couldn't find them because they break off even with the tread and it kind of closes until you get the tire jumping up and down under load. Just a seep. Not like a fart in the bathtub.

Try it. Unlike the "fix a flat" product that I am aware of, this stuff will wash off with water.

Thanks for reminding me. I need to do the rear tires.

I have "Berrymans" in all 4 tires of my BX. I used it in my old Case and never had a problem.

I also had a S L O W leak on a front tire of my BX2200. I did the same as you and put it in a tub of water but no bubbles. I determined that my tire would only leak when I was using the loader. I replaced the valve core and it hasn't leaked since (over 2 months). If you haven't already done so, I would give RoyJacksons suggestion a try. I think I paid 82 cents for the valve core that I bought.

Take the tire to a repair shop.
