Oil & Fuel learning about diesel Yanmars

Guys, I want to learn about my tractor. I'm not much of a mechanic, but I have time to tinker with my Yanmar FF205D. Question is what would be a good guide to take me through the various systems and parts so I can remove parts and have them tested when the time comes. Would a repair book for another F series tractor be fairly close? Ernie, what do you think about this? thanks to all, brett w

Deffinatley get the shop and repair manuals if they are available for your tractor. If not, a dealer may be able to specify a 'close' tractor manual for use as a reference. It will prove invaluable.

I would not worry about your machine going bonkers on you yet.
You have one of the latest & nicest model around.
I dont know how many hrs. are on yours yet.
But my 3 FX models take a licking all the time,and they always amaze me how sturdy they are.
I find this club & the old one are my best source of info for repairs.
Im not a mechanic either,but I took someones tractor tranny apart to 200 pcs. all over the floor,fixed it & put it back together.
Yes, it was a nightmare,I did lose sleep,buuuut his tractor works,hes happy,& I learned a lot.
The hardest part was telling my mind that I could do it,
and rolling up my sleeves.
And yes, Leonard pulled thru with the part that we needed
all the way from Japan.
