LED worklights

My last 55w work light burned out and am planning to replace with some nice bright LEDs. I have a mount on the top of my rops and since all wiring is in place plan to keep the location. 2 forward facing, 2 rear facing, separate switches. What would be a good LED replacement? Looking for experience vs "I saw these in a catalog" if you know what I mean.

Just ordered 4 Tuff Led's from Amazon,27 wat.The will be installed on our recent purchase of a L3000Dt

My plan is mounting 4 of them on the ROPS bar, 2 forward, 2 reverse. I'm thinking I get 2 flood with a real wide beam & 2 spot with a narrow more focused beam. That will give good overall coverage with with a brighter hot spot directly in front & behind.

thanks guys. on one hand I like the idea of a light bar but on the other having 2 independent lights facing forward or backwards means that you can adjust as needed to get a wider spread or angle them closer to get a bright center.. maybe i'll do one of each.

birdman - the tuff led's look good and would be a direct replacement on my existing mount, i'd be curious to hear you feedback once you get them installed and tested.

radar - your set up looks nice, i'll check my local tsc branded store and see what they have.

Lazer Star LED/HID Lights

I picked up 2 of the 35 watt flood lights to mount on the tractor roof for nighttime work.

Those LED ones are about 30 watts for $70. You can find 27 watt LED utility/tractor lights on Amazon for $20-30. A quick look turns up 55 watt 7" HIDs on Amazon for $66 to well over $100 as well. They are pretty short on specs there on Woot or LED Light Bars | HID Lights | Halogen | Off Road | Truck | UTV | ATV | Jeep | Harley | Lazer Star

Also those HIDs have a really high color temperature (6000k) which means they are going to be relatively blue. No OEM car manufacturer makes lights higher than 5000k & most are towards 4200k. The higher the color temperature, the less usable the light is to your eyes. They do look pimp though according to some people (I don't think so)... Which is probably much less relevant on a tractor anyway.

Right now HID & LED technology are about in parity, they are pretty close to the same lumens per watt & both have a pretty long lifespan. HIDs are a pretty mature technology, but LEDs are still evolving a fair bit.
