Leftover Annual Rye good next year?

I have not been bothering with a Fall garden, but planted just a few radishes and turnips Labor Day. Now this may not be unusual for some of you; I don't know, but I've never seen radishes like this. I plant some in the Spring, they produce early and are finished in a very short time. And if you don't pick them while they're "normal" size, the plant shoots up a tall stem in the middle and goes to seed, leaving the interior of the radish soft and pithy. But of these I planted Labor Day, not a one has that stem making seed, both the radish and the leaves are the biggest I've ever seen, and in spite of their size, they're still good eating. The picture is of a few I picked this morning, with a 12" ruler laying on them.
