After cutting the grass a few weeks ago with my 1997 legacy I had noticed the plastic cup holder was real loose and I could pull it out a little from the frame.Looking underneath the fender I noticed all but 1 of the 5 plastic mounting screw posts were broken Part # 1715913 (cup holder) so I called the dealer to have one ordered about $27.00 and a little while later he called me back and said they were no longer available. I removed the cup holder and looked it over to see If I could repair it somehow.I took 5 small bolts about 1 1/2 inches long and cut the head off and now took 5 nuts and made sure I could screw the nuts onto the small bolts. After knowing that worked I took the bolts and mixed some JB Weld epoxy and installed the bolts with the some epoxy in the broken plastic posts and let them cure for 24 hours.I painted both the bottom and top of the cup holder with black gloss plastic paint and after the paint dried I used a little steel wool to make it smooth to the touch and secured it on the tractor with a flat, lock washer and nut.You do not need the bolt installed on the bolt nearest the gas tank because you can not get a nut on, to close a fit with the fuel tank. Here a few pictures to show how I did the fix.
