Lely Optimo 240 lubrication

Can anyone give me some pointers for lubricating my disc mower please ?

Does it use sealed bearings or an oil bath in the mower bar ?
Grease or gear oil ?

Any info would be appreciated as googling hasn't revealed anything helpful.

Hay season starts next week so I want to be sure all my gear is just right.

I am sorry I am unable to be of assistance. Our operation has a Lely tedder rake and it has grease fittings. Not familiar with your machine.

I about fell over when you stated you needed to start haying very shortly and not knowing where you are located we are in the second day of winter here in Oregon.

Checked out a couple of your old posts and noticed you are on the other side of the world. Understand the difference in haying seasons.

I would think the bar had oil, but it looks like I am wrong. Never seen one of these mowers though, our disk mower uses trans hydraulic oil in the bar/gear case.

I did find this, it has lubes listed on the parts break downs. Page 11 lists 2 different ones.

The mower uses EP-0 grease.
Do not use gear oil in the Optimo series mowers. You can download a Shop manual here http://haytools.com/public_html/images/Lely_Manuals/Lely_Repair_Manual.pdf
The equivalent of 2 quarts would lubricate the whole mower if totally empty. Just top off the cutter heads. They take a total of 3.3 oz. The main gearbox has 2 compartments. Each compartment takes a pint. Make sure that each vent is free enough for you to blow through.
