At the time I started this thread I didn't have a UTV. I did pick it up yesterday though; so no, I don't have any pictures of stuff I made.

And yes, as stated in the original post I am thinking of making some of my own parts.

I guess, since I'm new to UTV's, I was hoping to hear about some commonly known fixes for DIY'ers. For example: "I took a hood off 1989 Toyota pickup and it made a perfect OPS top for my Gator", or "I cut a sheet of 3/16" acrylic to make my own windshield, here's how I went about it", etc.

there have only been a few people that have made their own parts most have bought factory parts when they bought thiers new or they bought aftermarket parts but not to many in here make their parts . infact me and maybe one other guy but i forgot his name really made our parts . i never could see paying 500.00 for a bumper made out of gauged tubing when i could make a bumper out of "PIPE" for less than 200.00 and if you run into something with the 500.00 bumper well you need to buy another one but if you run into something with mine you need to buy another one of whatever you ran into. anything i make is 3/16 thick or thicker other than my stickstopper i use 1/8th plate for that and i use 3/16 aluminum for them. i did test my rops rack one time with me standing on it 145.00 and i thought that was a good weight til a few weeks ago when i had to load a cast iron tub into the bed of my gator so i hooked my comalong to it and started pulling i figuered i would yank it off the rops but it held the weight of the tub was 500+lbs so i know my rops will hold a weight of 500+lbs pulling on it and 300 inside easy. it might even hold the 500 lbs inside the rack . i'm makin a cart for the utv's right now too i'll post some pic of it when it's finished thas gonna be neat i won't say why but you'll see when i'm done.

So no one else here has ever made their own parts for their UTV's?

I welded up a bracket to mount hazard lights up out of the way on my HPX. Used existing holes in the bed supports, and painted it JD green so it looks factory. Unfortunately, it doesn't show well in the photos i have. Doesn't compare to Tommy's work, though!
