B2650 fel bh/ BX2200
Well, the dealer called and said my BX2200 is in, but they sent the wrong FEL with it. They gave me a choice to go ahead and come in and sign the papers this Friday and will deliver it the same day without the FEL - then just pick it up when the FEL comes in and mount it and bring back....I opted for that. I've got 5 gallons of diesel at home waiting for it! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif My wife is bummed because she wanted to be here when it was delivered and because she works saturday, she won't be able to get on it until Sunday after Church!!!! I get to break it in!!! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Congratulations!!! Friday sure seems a long way away when your waiting....not to mention the sleepless nights.....LOL

I'm sure you will enjoy it, but remember to let the little misses have some fun too as it sure makes life easier if they get a taste of the joy and understand why your gloating and smiling all the time when you go out to use it.

Hi Randy, Frank,

Not to worry, my wife will probably log more seat time on the thing than I will! She loves to mow and we have about 7 acres to mow. Works out kinda nice for me as I am learning that addictive game of golf and she even bought me a flag to put out in the mowed field to practice my wedge shots with! What a gal, I got her a treadmill for Valentine's Day (and she loved it) - she only weighs 102 lbs.....doctor said her metabolism was too low. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif Just call me Mr. Romantic! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I am bummed about the FEL, I wanted to see how that baby would work - got a lot planned for it. Was also wondering about what it can do with the toothbar on it???? We have a bunch of hedge down here and I'd love nothing better than to just drive through it with the FEL skimming beneath the dirt - but I'm hoping I can use that little 42" bush hog I'm getting to help with that.

I limited my hobbies section of my profile, could have put a whole bunch of stuff in it, like shooting, golf, motorcycling, tinkering, etc.... The wing chun is a form of kung fu under the Yuen Kay San line. I lived in DC for 20 years, and while up there, found a wing chun master to teach me......I'd dabbled in alot of stuff prior to that and wasn't really thrilled with what was taught at the Bureau (hand to hand wise), so I got into that and later became an instructor (although I only teach privately now). You can learn more about the art, if you want, at www.wingchunkuen.com . I really like these two Kubota forums, alot of enthusiasm and genuine help - which seems to be a rare commodity these days.

I'll be sure to comment next week sometime on how the mower did. I hope they level it ok.

Thanks,

welcome aboard and congrats on the new purchase. With a toothbar you SHOULD be able to uproot the hedges if you can get under them and use the curl as opposed to the lift function. All depends on the hedge and how deeply rooted they are. )I had some old arborviate's about 20 years old I coildn't have pulled with my dodge ram 2500 - just cut them flush and mulched over them!!

Gerard,

Thanks for the welcome, much appreciated...

I'll have to try it when I get the FEL and a toothbar. I've never used a FEL in my life and the dealer didn't even have one to demo or look at....I haven't got a clue as to even what the joystick looks like....it'll be an experience! The Kubota site doesn't present a good photographic view of it's products, imo, so I'll have to wait for the FEL and hope the dealer shows me what I need to know. I built a 20X40 pole/metal barn on a slanted grade, so I need to move several truckloads of clay/gravel when I get the FEL, just to level out the floor of the barn (where I will house the Kubota). That should give me some pretty good FEL experience!

Thanks,

Make sure you put some weight on the back of the 3 pt if you are moving heavy stone, or anyting with the FEL. Did you get a weight box?? If not it is worth the $$$. I moved 25 ton of stone for a patio/greenhouse project the other day with the BX, no problem. You are going to just LOVE the machine /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Tom,

Thanks for the suggestion. No, I don't have a weight box - will look into it though. I planned on using the little 42 inch Howse bush hog that I bought as counterbalance for now - since what I will be doing is open and the hog won't be in the way - but, as others have mentioned, getting something smaller to counterbalance it will be advisable in the long run. I really like what I'm hearing about this little machine - seems to really hold it's own and is just the ticket for me. If I need anything bigger, my father (who lives about 4 miles away), has a Ford 2000 Diesel with implements, including a much larger hog.

Much appreciated,

when u get the fel and toothbar, just use the fel, go out somewhehre on your property and just experiment, work the controls and see what the fel does, then put the toothbar on and see what different things u can do. just remember that with the toothbar , u are a tad limmited in using the bucket edge for backdragging.
