On average, what is the life expectancy of a 1998 4200 HST?

Thanks

I don't know that anyone can give you a good answer to this question. Too many factors to consider:
Maintenance
Type of use
Hours per year
Luck
I had a 955 for 12 years with moderate use that was as good the day I sold it as when I bought it. I hope to have the same servcie and luck with my 4310.

Good luck. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Do you refer to years of service or operating hours? There are many variables but the two most important would be type of operation and how well it is maintained. A 4200 used for 100 hours of mowing a year and well maintained would likely last for 20-25 years without needing major repair. But if the same tractor was used for heavy FEL and backhoe work at 100 hours a month and not well maintained you could likely expect to start paying for repairs after the first year or even sooner. I honestly don't know how to predict a service life unless the variables are known, and even then luck would be a factor.

With proper maintenance the motor should go 5000 hours. Without it could be 1000 hours. The rest of the tractor should hold up as well. I would expect with proper maintenance and a little TLC you could expect 5000 pretty trouble free hours aside from your normal wear and tear items.

Thanks very much! Any idea what an engine rebuild costs?
