I'm going to tackle this soon. and was wondering if it's as straight-forward as removing one, replacing two o-rings and gasket, and putting the other in? What should I check as far as the condition and adjustments on the one (881) which is going into the 860 and will be the user? It lifts good and stays up without leaking down. The 860 has a cracked top-cover and leaks down fast and only lifts at the upper part of the quadrant.

Thanks for any guidance or suggestions...

if the lift on the 881 works fine.. lifts good and don't leak.. then yeah.. swap can be as easy as a top cover gasket and those 2 small orings.

don't ditch the 860 cover. post details of the crack. there may well still be good parts on it...

I long while ago I bought a used cover from John Smith and I never around to installing it. I plan to transfer all the parts from the 860 lift onto the new cover and see if I can get it working properly...
