Delivery Boys

Before World War I, delivery boys in the Edison Electric Company's Lamp Department replaced customers burned-out light bulbs for free. This was an important service until modern screw-base bulbs came into widespread use after the war.

I remember the electric company providing a pole, mercury vapor lamps and service to keep it burning for $3 per month. That is no more where I come from.
