I decided to do a few little things. The biggest thing was adding a work light facing to the rear with a switch. I could have really used this a couple weeks ago when I was finishing up loading some limbs onto my trailer as it was getting dark. There was already an unused hot wire running to that location for a running light that wasn't there. I don't like the cheap on/off switch I got, but it will do until I find something better.

The second thing I did was to adjust the wiring for the flashers so that they don't act as turn signals, which I don't think I need, but rather just flash together like a hazard light. I'm not on the road often, but I'd rather have the hazard set-up for when I am.

The last mod was to bring the horn back to life. You might recall in another post that I mentioned the horn was going off randomly until I disconnected it. :D I bought a button, and I wired it to the same hot wire that feeds that flashers on the fenders. I attached the horn's ground to a convenient bolt. It works well now (beep beep!) but I still need to add a hole and install the button on the lower left side of the dash -- In the picture, I'm holding the button about where it will be.

Never would have thought I have more options on my 2000 dash and it's not even a B model  My Horn is behind the steering wheel. H.lights red on front of the dash. Toggle work light. Turn Sig. Head Lights????

I drilled/filed out a hole and mounted the horn button. It seemed to me that with the horn under the dash, it was kind of like honking at myself. So... I moved the horn to the front of the tractor. You can see in the picture that I mounted it on a sheet of metal under the air filter. I also painted the horn flat black so it wasn't obvious from the front -- it had gotten painted mostly red when they painted the tractor. I showed off the new tractor features (hazard lights, rear work light and horn) to my wife and one of our daughters. They were pleased but especially happy about the Beep! Beep!

When I bought my 186d all the lights worked and still do, but the turn signal is wired backward. To signal left, turn the knob to the right and so forth. The horn is not very loud, so I thought about adding a La-cu-cu-ra-cha (yea, I know spelling) horn would be over kill. I don't drive on the road enough to use turn signals, just use hand signals, and the hazards.

I changed my horn out for an ooooogha ooooogha horn. Only purpose is to scare my wife and amuse the grandkids. She can be working in the flowers and me honk that thing and she can nearly clear the ground. :D
