I recently acquired an 850 and I've been getting everything sorted out, but I'm not sure what to expect as far as how the lights are supposed to work. The headlight bulbs were both obviously burned out, so I've replaced them, but still no headlights.
The dash switch is labeled Off, F, W, H1 and H2. I would assume H1 and H2 are the low and high beam headlights, but I'm not sure about the F and W. The wiring looks pretty decent and I've checked fuses, etc., so I'm suspecting the switch might be bad. When I switch to F, H1, or H2, the red hazard/blinker light on the left rear fender comes on. None of the other lights have worked so far, including the little red ones on the dash (bulbs may be burned out, but I haven't checked those yet).
It looks like the wiring harness from the headlights goes to the alternator (two white wires), so I had wondered if the lights are supposed to be on all the time when the tractor's running.
Also, I would like to know the function of the rear lights. There are two lights on each fender. The two forward lights (orange lens) seem to be the same type, the rear light on the left (red lens) blinks as I mentioned, and the right rear light (metal case, lens is missing) looks like maybe a work light. I guess that the two orange lights would be the left and right turn signals, and the red light brakes, but I'm not sure about that.
