It’s my understanding from reading different posts a lot of people prefer the diverter. Being able to control the speed of opening and closing the grapple is not a bad thing. I have been using a rear remote so I can’t say what’s best but I see no problem with either

Mine is as described above. A single button. Although I don’t have a grapple yet, when I press the button it takes the place of the curl function which I image would open and close the grapple with button depressed and moving joystick left and right. Raise and lower still works as expected.

I'm pretty sure it's actually only a button not a button/joystick. Which would mean you can EITHER curl or close/open grapple, not both at the same time. Not sure exactly if that qualifies as a diverter or not, but I'm thinking it is only a press in/release button on the joystick.
Yes, I misread what he said. Guess I have to slow down and read. I completely missed the line where he says push the button and move the joystick right to open the grapple.
Yes this is a diverter and is preferred by most because you can feather the opening and closing of the grapple lid. You can go fast or slow. With a true third function valve it is either full blast or off.

Yeah, after doing a little research on what exactly a diverter is and isn't, I'm actually glad to have that option. I think for what I would need/use it for having control over how fast or slow it closes would be much better than being able to do both at the same time.
