I have been in the market for the best attachment for both keeping ditches along my mile long gravel driveway and the pond bank mowed as well as clearing road lanes and over hanging limbs. I am sure both a limb ninja along with an offset flail would be the best option but I would rather only buy one. I wanted to see if there was anyone out there that has used both of these machines for these purposes and if they had any insight. I am sure the flail will be much more expensive and I would imagine the limb ninja would be a little more versatile. Please help me make a decision.

Edit to add this today 7/17/22

If you think you can make better use of a limb ninja you need to ask the dealer for a list of
buyers so you can talk to them about thier experience with them.

With the tractor properly ballasted with wheel weights and or liquid ballast in the rear tires
a 5-6 foot cut Maschio or Del Morino boom mounted orchard and vineyard flail shredder operated
on level ground with the 3 point hitch elevated 24 inches and the mower vertical will be able to
shred brush 7-8 feet high at the lowest speed being A-1/1.2 miles per hour.

The other major concern is your ditches and how deep they are and whether you can only access
them from the laneway or in the ditch.

It may be simpler and more cost effective for you to buy a full body harness and rent a man lift for a day
or two and use an extendable 2 cycle engine powered pole pruner.

Did you mean to say you have a 5075E?

With that much private lane it may be simpler to invest in a surplus municipal tractor that has a
true boom arm mounted flail shredder that will provide you a great deal of reach and cutting height.

If not the boom mounted orchard and vineyard flail shredder will be safer to use.

Your 5075E tractor models three point hitch will limit the height the flail shredder can be lifted
as long as the PTO shaft is allowed to work correctly without binding and damaging the tractors power train

The three point hitch at its fully elevated height will determine how high the boom and shredder
will be able to rise within the safe over center load limit as dictated by (1) the weight of the mower
and the boom and (2) the width of cut of the flail shredder.

The tractors center gravity will also have to be considered in this regard as well to prevent a tip over.
There is lots of information available discussing a tractors center of gravity on the forum and on you tube with tutorials.

The weight and elevated height will be countered on the opposite side of the 5075E with a counterweight using liquid ballast
or wheel weights in the front and rear tires if a front mounted hydraulic pump and reservoir is used.
If the wheels can be widened to increase the tractors stability all the better.

You like many of us face the same challenges of maintaining property. I have no experience with either machine but have considered them. Looking for reviews and talked to a local dealer. My hillside hazard from rollover from boom or side shift a concern.

Mowing around ponds and creeks I back the mowers to the edge. 4wd tractors make this more successful now. Too many times stuck by going sideways and can’t mow across water’s edge.

Miles of woods encroachment on roads and clearings use to involve a lot of manual chainsaw, polesaw, and tree pulling. Now mostly done with grapples, Intimdator and Piranha bar. With the wife’s help driving and me in a FEL basket can clear a road higher, wider and arguably better than a front mower. Pleasing landscaping important at times and places. Also handy for other uses.

Recent addition of hydraulic polesaw for the FEL let’s met tackle bigger higher limbs as well as the small stuff. Been keeping me busy this year.

Wish there was one implement that could do it all. These kind of attachments work best with HST. Reaching out magnifies the smallest moves. Being in the right position important. If you decide on either attachment hope you can post a review of your experience.
