Ingredients
7 5/8 x 8 hex bolts
7 5/8 nuts
20 5/8 washers
6 1/2 washers (bored out to 5/8)
6 5/8 lock washers
1 small metal garbage can as for a form
Small piece of fence
3 bags of concrete
1 old metal broom handle
1 piece of galvanized pipe
6 5/8 collars

Took several piece of circular wood pieces and screwed them together (raised to clear the lug nuts).
Put 3 holes in the wood to match up with holes in the tractor rims.
Cut an old metal broom handle into 5 inch pieces.
Attached the bolts and washers to the wood pieces.
The extra bolt will be used for a removable handle.

I then push the wood pieces tight in the trash can.
I then poured a little concrete in the the trash can.
I then added metal fence for reinforcement.

Poured the rest of the concrete.
Put the handle (bolt) in the concrete.
Painted the wheel weight after cured.
Attached the bolts to the rims using collars.

Slid the wheel weights on the bolts and tightened.
Unscrewed the handle from the nut/washer embedded in concrete.
Weight is about 85 pounds per wheel weight.

What does JD want for wheel weights, and how much did yours cost? Good job.

I don't remember how much the John Deere wheel weights were, but I remember I thought they were expensive. I think it was around $100 per wheel.

My total cost, just guessing, is probably $13 for the collars, $9 for concrete, and $13 for bolts, washers and nuts. So probably about $17.50 per wheel. The rest of the ingredients were just hanging out waiting to be used.

Thanks for the complements everyone.

Thanks for posting this simple yet very effective idea!!! I didn't want my rear tires filled and so far was too cheap to buy wheel weights for my tractor, because they would set me back by about $120 or so. DIY is the way to go. You should paint a smiley face on there with green paint. That is what I'm going to do.:) I made my weight box too for about $20 following suggestions from TBN members.

Hope you torqued those lug bolts before the weights went on, cause you ain't gonna get to 'em easy now.

I don't see the valve stem, or is it hiding on the back side of the wheel for some reason.
