Little House Fire in Texas

One of the biggest houses in the local area was built by a software millionaire. Ugly mess. I talked to one of the dry wall guys who worked on it, who said it wasn't even well built, just expensive. Lots of money does not equate with good sense or even good taste.

Wonder why a building of that size and so close to completion didn't have a functioning sprinkler system. Where I live, its required by code, and typically sprinklered buildings don't burn down. Sounds fishy to me.

Actually it did - problem was that apparently the fire started in and spread via the attic, the one place without sprinklers /w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif.
