The tractor was 300ks away but on a whim I decided to throw together a ripper attachment to fit the 4in1 bucket. For 'measurements' all i had to go by was a pic of the tractor. It took about 2 hours and 6 ft of rectangular tube that I had lying around. 'Ripper 2' shows how it fitted the claw of the bucket. (Its just a tight fit keeping it in place here). 'Ripper 3' show how it 'clamps' in place. I miscalculated badly here. I imagined (from 300ks away) that the dozer blade would have clamped in behind the teeth but as you can see I missed it by a mile and only just snagged the top of the ripper teeth. Nevertheless that was all that was needed to keep the ripper clamped in place. In spite of the thin gauge tube and my terrible welding it held together perfectly. The 'angle of attack' with the teeth at 45 degrees puts minimal stress on the tube. Pic 4 shows only about 1/4 of the ground I ripped. Much of it was compacted dirt with a thatch of kikuyu and buffalo grass that is like rope and is very hard to cut through with the bucket. The ripper shredded it easily. After ripping it I moved about 30 bucket fulls of dirt. I now know that the tractor could have handled more teeth, and wider ones at that, but half a dozen passes took only a few minutes so making it wider wouldn't have saved all that much time really.
