hey there in dunlap;
i would add one caveat to the pto discussion.. keep in mind, that on many old (and older) tractors, the pto will push you when you don't wanna go...for example, my old Allis does not have a live pto, but thankfully it does have a hand clutch (or "power director"). on numerous occasions, i have been bush-hoggin and ran up on a creek or bog or gully and had to try to stop quickly in order to keep from wearing that allis across my stomach. well, since the pto is as it is, if you mash the clutch and snag the brakes (as is normal reaction), you will be unpleasantly met with a torque push of up to 10 or so feet. even though the pto "stops turning" as soon as the clutch is applied, the torque is transferred to the ground...i had to learn to stop with the hand clutch (pto keeps turning, but no torque push).
all i'm sayin is be careful. you should seriously consider installin one of those over-runnin pto shafts (get em at the co-op for about $30...)
by the way..that restaurant there at the motel is the best around for about 50 miles..we always stop there on the way to chattanooga..
