I noticed the temp trying to climb on my little LK2554 and decided it was time to clean the fins out good on the radiator. It does have a screen in front that you can not remove because of the loader arms without unbolting the entire frame for it. So I normally just wipe it off with my hand after each use.
After about 15 years of not cleaning properly I took it apart and gave it a good wash. I started with just air and man was it packed! Then moved to some water rinsing and that brought even more crap out. I spent several hours but got it good and clean and hopefully solved the temperature issue.
But it is getting time to have the little radiator gone through. I found what looks like a small leak in the corner that you can not see with the shroud on. It must be small as I rarely need to add any coolant. May be a project to get done this winter but for now I will just keep an eye on it.
I may make this a once a year job so it doesn’t get so bad. Here is a picture of the leak. The radiator is showing it’s age. Also a picture of it cleaned.
