Is the mounting for the backhoe on the 3054xs tlb a different design then on the earlier 3054's? From some of the pictures it appears that it gives more ground clearance. I would think this would be nice in wooded areas.

Does anyone know of people who have had problems with the Hoe subframe hanging up on stuff?

Thanks

Yes, the TLB package has a backhoe that attaches to a subframe that is mounted to the rear and under the tractor that stays on the tractor full time (it is also part of the 4 post ROPS system). The backhoe itself is attached at 4 points. The backhoe is locked and released from the back of the tractor by a single lever action. The drivers seat tilts forward and the backhoe seat drops back into the same space, so you are working under the ROPS and FOPS structure while using the hoe. Thie make a very short overhang on the back which makes it easier to load and unload on trailer ramps and to drive upon uneven terrain. this is a rugged little TLB. I think it is a real bargain, could be a little prejudiced, being I am a dealer...

Thanks Bluechip

So are you saying that the subframe sits up higher, more ground clearance then the non dedicated unit?

Can you tell me if the loaders on the 3054's have a bar in the front that wraps around. I have seen pictures with this wrap around design that is not on the ck series. Can you tell me when they list the loader reach at full height of 22", is this 22" from the bar to the bucket, or does the bar take away clearance making it less reach?

Thanks

The way the backhoe mounts on the LK3054XS TLB package it sits closer to the tractor. Because of this you cannot use your three point hitch arms, or your three point hitch at all. The subframe unit that comes on the LK3054XS TLB is super stout...the strongest I have ever seen on a unit, overkill in my opinion but it sure is stout. So on the dedicated TLB package it is just that, dedicated, no 3-point hitch. Because of this the backhoe sits closer to the tractor meaning less overhang which equals better clearance.

The front end loader on the LK3054XS is a "front push" model, also known as a front mount. All CK & DK series (and almost all other modern tractors, besides Mahindra) have "mid-mount" loaders. This is just due to the LK's older design, same thing on the LB1914.

Actually the backhoe drops off in a matter of minutes and the 3 point linkage that is included, goes on easy with hitch pins. A subframe type may be fine for a homeowner, but if I had to haul one on a trailer from job to job, up and down ramps on a trailer the LK3954XS TLB would be my first choice. You have the added convinence of working under the standard sunshade instead of behind it, when you run the backhoe. The entire package is beefy and I think it would excellent for rental or contractor use. in fact I plan to use one in our new rental division.

It also has some nice worklights mounted up on the 4 point ROPS/FOPS.

This is a great tractor for contractors to buy, can still take it home and brushog the pasture once in a while.
