Anyone have any experience with LMC (Lowery Mfg) rotary cutters? I looked at their 6ft hd model and it seemed pretty stout. Priced reasonably too...

I bought a new 4' LMC Clipper 400 about 4 months ago. I sold it along with the small tractor i had. It was a good cutter for grass. It cut very low and i liked that. The 5' Andy 500 is a good cutter for the money also.
I dont know about their HD models, but i would imagine they're good too.

I personally think Bush Hog makes the best rotary cutter on the market though. I'e had several Squealers and now own a model 285.

Good luck!

Thanks! Im with with you that Bush Hog is one of the top acts in the rotary cutter market. However the 6ft LMC HD is very stout looking, has a 120hp gearbox, and the one i looked at was priced at $1650 which is about a grand less than i can find a comparable Bush Hog, Woods, Land Pride, etc. I was settled on Land Pride but now im torn....

I would not at all be scared to buy the LMC. they make good stuff. I own an LMC heavy duty boom pole and couldn't be more pleased with it.

If it helps u, i gave $1750 for my Bush Hog model 285 rotary cutter (5 ft.) about 3 or 4 years ago. The selling dealer was going out of business (and i wasn't aware when i bought it). So $1650 for a heavy duty 6ft. cutter now days i think is not a bad price. So if you like it and think it will hold up to your expectations, i'd get it.

The gearbox (China made) on my Bush Hog 285 is 110 hp. I have an LMC dealer that's about 8 minutes from me. He's been selling LMC for many, many years.

I have an LMC about 4.5foot disk harrow. Its well made and seems pretty heavy duty for the size of it. I like it and have heard others say that they make good "stuff" as well. NO experience with a cutter though.

I really think im gonna give it a shot. I can tell the deck and tail wheel assemblies (it has twin tail wheels) are built well and I think the stump jumper is almost 3/4". If/when i get it I'll let everybody know what i think!
