So, after doing some heavy digging I checked the nuts on the loader and bucket pins. They were what I would describe as marginally tight. The manual gave no direct reference on torque, so I tightened them as much as I could with a 12" crescent wrench (I was able to put a turn or so on each one).

Then I thought better of it and backed them off until they were "nice and snug". (I know, not very helpful, but I don't have a large enough socket for my torque wrench).

My thinking was, they just need to be tight enough so the pins don't come out. Overtightening may actually be worse.

So, how tight should the nuts on the pins actually be?

That's it just tight enough to hold the pin in, you don't want to strip the threads....

If pin is not backing out, its tight enough..... I pin was staying in place it did not need tightening....

You have to have a feel for it...
