Yanmar 424
I'm trying to understand the ways in which I might expand the capabilities of my new SA424. I know that the bucket comes off the loader hydraulics with pins and would presume that something else could go on in its place.

I think that pallet forks are a common attachment, so I'll use that as a "for example".

Is the Yanmar bucket attachment some sort of a standard mount? I read about something called a "pin-on" arrangements?

Could attachments that fit other SCUTs/CUTs fit the Yanmar mount?

What sorts of attachments are available that do (or don't) work for a tractor of this size?

Thanks in advance,

Hi,
You actually don't remove the bucket by removing the pins. I guess you could but thats not the way the bucket connection is to be used. Yanmar has its own "quick attach" if you want to call it that. Like myself your not really going to find other attachments that will just hook up to what you have. Yanmar wants you to buy attachments from them so they may profit from it. Most manufactures have there own set-ups. Some people do a conversion over to "SSQA" skid steer quick attach. A large amount of attachments are SSQA.
So your options for now are:
#1 Buy attachments from Yanmar
#2 Have someone Modify / Fabricate an attachment you may find so that it will attach to the Yanmar quick connect. $200 fabrication plus attachment (roughly)
#3 Convert your existing Yanmar quick connect over to SSQA which will open you up to a large amount of attachments from many different attachment manufactures. I think will run you about $750-$1000 to do conversion
It really depends on how many different attachments you want to get. For example if you only want pallet forks. Your cheapest option that i have found is buy a set of forks and have a fabricator make it so that it hooks up to your tractor.
If you want many different attachments you may be better off doing a conversion over to SSQA so that your attachments are cheaper but you will pay up front for the conversion.
Hope this helps. I am sure others may add some ideas that i didn't list.

I got a Buddy that just built me a plow blade for my 324 that uses the stock quick attach. He made a small pile of brackets to make some more, or any other equipment people might want. ( I am thinking about a stump bucket, or SSQA to yanmar quick attach). I am too new to post links ( 4 more post to go) but feel free to send me a message and I will give you the links!
