When your loader is set to float, is the entire weight of the loader on the implement? I am considering using a 5' wheel-less rake on the loader and wonder if the load will be too much weight? Using it to rake small debris in/around some trees. TL 1000 loader on a Kubota L39.

When the loader lift/lower is in float, both ends of the cylinders are connected to tank. Thus, both are exhausting fluid and no pressure is being applied. The weight of the loader causes itself to lower (no pressure on the cylinders). So the answer to your first question is "Yes". The answer to your second question is "maybe, maybe not". it depends on the weight of the loader and rake combined.

I have filled the bucket with material and then placed it in float to back drag. Can really tell the difference with the weight.

That's what I like about this site. That idea is so obvious its almost a "duh" type thing but it just never occurred to me and probably never would have. I will definitely give it a try in the future! Thanks.

The loader in Float is probably more weight than you "need" if you are just trying to rake up debris with a wheel-less rake mounted on it (I'm assuming the bucket is still on it as well?). Whether it is "too much" weight is another question. If your rake can take it without damage, you may find yourself raking up soil as well as debris.
