Loader for JD 770

Hey guys, Can a 2WD 770 handle a front end loader and if so what is a good size? Thanks.

Hey Noclue, I thought I posted to your question but maybe I forgot to hit "continue" after the preview.

In any event, the JD #70 loader will fit your tractor. I've got one on my 790 which is the same tractor as the 770 with a bit more hp. 2wd shouldn't be a major problem you'll just have to be extra judicious in your use of rear ballast. You'll need the DSCV if you don't already have it. It's available as a bolt on kit from Deere. In fact, go to the Deere sight and find the configurator. Pull up the 70 loader and it will list all the "stuff" necessary with list prices. Do you have power steering? If not, you'll probably wish you did /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

NoClue, I don't know what loaders might fit that tractor, but I think the simple answer to your question is that, yes, it can handle a front end loader, but you probably ain't gonna like it. We'd need to know what kind of load you intend to lift with it, what kind of terrain you'd be on, does it have power steering (I don't know anything about the 770), what kind of ballast you have for the back end. In other words, your question just raises more questions. 4WD and power steering are not absolutely essential for front end loader work, but they sure are much better.
