loader grease

hey guys i was just wondering what type of grease can i use to lube up my loader?

The manual with my LA401 loader simply says, "SAE multipurpose grease." I kind of like Tractor Supply Company's "heavy duty" red grease myself (and honestly don't know whether it's any better or worse than a lot of others - but it's pretty/w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif).

The loader manual for my B2410 specifically states "high pressure" grease containing "molybdinum disulphide". It refers to the use of "multipurpose grease" for the rest of the tractor fittings. I figured I better go with that so I bought two grease guns and two types of grease.

I read the same thing in the owners manual about grease for my L3000. At the local auto/truck parts store I bought a tube of grease containing 5% moly. I figured it was good for all the grease points on the tractor. Moly is a good extreme pressure high temp. lubricant, but it is also very hard to wipe off your hands once there.

On my old 8N I found that a marine grade waterproof grease stayed where you put it.

my manual say moly grease. i have used this before on other things, and it makes everything
black, and it is a mess. so what else can we use?

I'm rather partial to Mobil synthetic grease. Always seems to work well in every other application I have & seems to do better than the other mulitpurpose grease types I have tried.

No matter what type of grease you use just remember to grease often. Remember "grease is cheap"... especially when you compare it to expesive parts getting worn. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

I got a couple of HP moly grease from the dealer (Kubota Brand). I'll use it on the loader and I've been told to try red wolf head grease? (something like that) for the deck.
