Loader hoses as Rear Remote

I have a L3130 with a loader. I am wanting to rent a seed drill from the USDA extension agency, but I need rear remotes to lift the drill. My Kubota dealer told me I could make hoses to run from the loader to the drill and use the loader controls to lift the drill. (The loader would be out of commission during such an operation). Has anyone done this? How would I build the hose? Would I need to add fluid? Is this a good idea to save the 1k that remotes cost, or a silly way to hurt my tractor?

Extending remotes with long hoses is done all the time...mostly from the rear to the front for grapples and snowplows, but there is no reason you can't go the other way...

As far as "building" hoses, you just need the proper QD's (quick disconnects) on each end-any local hydraulic shop or even your dealer should have them. Then it's simply a matter of figuring out how long you need them.

After the drill is hooked up and you cycle it a few times just recheck your fluid level-I will bet you won't even notice it drop...

yes, more or less (likely more).

Yes the remotes are that expensive (about 1k), put two on the GL 3130, one is standard and other floats. Picked up the Kubota top and tilt kit cheap and they are worth it for the box blade and grading. Another cheaper way if you want only one remote and do not need exact control or to feather it out is the WR Long remote valve on the loader. It is electric and in the $500 range and have that on for the front grapple and glad I use it instead of using the rear remotes for that purpose. If it is a one time thing just run the hoses to the loader boom control as not sure how the curl would do with the regen in that circuit.
