Tractor
TYM T554HST Cab
I ordered my tractor (TYM T554C) with a third function remote, and it came out nicely integrated. I like the new joystick and the controls, but it was shorter than the original joystick. It came from TYM like this:

I asked the dealer if he can raise the joystick up about 4-5" but he is not getting anywhere with TYM.

The joystick height may end up being fine, but I wonder how hard it would be to replace it down the road if I don't like it. I'm taking delivery of the tractor next week.

Any comments?

Wow, that sure does look short! Is it really below the seat or is just the angle of the picture make it seem that way?

If your dealer can't help you out, any decent machine shop can make a very clean extension that you should be happy with.

Just not that big of a deal other than the aggravation of it not being right from the get go.

Good luck.

It's below the seat. I have long arms so I don't need to stretch to reach it, but I'm concerned about fatigue if I have to do a lot of loader work with my arm extended all the way.

I do like the fact that the wiring is hidden and not tie-wrapped to the side of the joystick rod like I've seen in other pictures.

Wires too short to put the original extension back in? That would drive me nuts being that low.

That is comically low! Do they expect it to be operated by foot?

Stay on their a** until they fix it. Even if the mfg won't help, any dealer worth a spit will step up and make it right.

I can't tell by the picture but if the seat has fold-down arm rests this could make operating the joystick even more difficult. I think extending the unit is in order now.

I went to Cabela's today to see what the original joystick looks like (TYM=Cabela's). The original joystick is taller, but it extends away from the seat. It's more of a stretch to get to it. So the new joystick is an improvement. As long as I don't have the arm rest down, it should be ok.

You really want the loader joystick to be within the same arc of movement as the steering wheel. The original lever looks like it was, but that new one is way too low and will be a problem. When using the front loader heavily, you will be making a lot of frequent motions/adjustments with the lever, and it needs to fall naturally to your hand without any sort of "reach". If you have to reach, it's going to be tedious and end up fatiguing your shoulder. Every tractor I have operated, regardless of brand, had the loader control within a natural reach of the steering wheel.
