loader on 1070

HI all,

was curious as to what model loader(s) were standard/available on a JD 1070 tractor and if there was much difference between them. So far my searches have come up with the 440 (quick detach bucket) and 80(fixed bucket). Is this correct? From what I gathered they are both removable from the tractor itself. also was this model ever offered with a mid pto. Have come across a late 90's version and was curious as to the loader differences mostly. Just remembered the pto thing and threw it in there. thanks.

Mine has the 80 series loader on it. I believe the 80 and 440 are the only options for this model. As for the mid PTO that was offered on all years as an option. Mine is a 93' and doesn't have it but they did offer a kit to add it. Not sure that is even available anymore. Someone else can chime in on this as I'd be interested if it is still available as I wouldn't mind adding one myself.

dwost is correct. The older ones came with the model 80 and the 440 was later. I have an early model 1070 with a model 80 loader.

When I had my 970 I looked into upgrading to a JD 430 loader.

JD offered a hydraulic restrictor option that made the 430 FEL a viable option for the 70 series tractors (870 - 970 - 1070).

If you're really serious about adding or upgrading to a new loader for your 1070; I'd bet that the current series of loaders - 300X and 300CX - would also work on those models of tractors, too.

A review of the JD website and the JD configurator will likely shed some light on that; as well your local dealer.

80A Loader on my 1070. It goes on and off in 60 seconds. I added the mid pto kit for a mid-mount mower but will soon use it to run the mid-mower now moved to the front loader arms and offset to the left for cutting under my evergreen tree rows. A front propshaft extention kit from other models works for this.

I saw a mid pto kit on ebay a few days ago for it. I wonder if the 790? series tractors use the same basic option and replacement parts.

Akfish- by hydraulic restrictor do you mean that the flow of the tractor was lowered to accommodate the loader or the loader was restricted to accommodate the tractor? not actually looking to get a loader as the tractor has a model 80 on it was just trying to get some info on the loader. i take it the 80 is the fixed bucket without a jdqd bucket and the 440 has the jdqd.

zzvyb6- don't add me to the club yet i have yet to look at the tractor but things are sounding good and i would be more than happy to be a part of the group.

I guess I just I hope this works out well. We have a 870 at work that we use for light mowing around obstacles where the batwings cannot go and i really enjoy it. nice tractor that is well put together and i assume the 1070 is very similar from what I've seen so far. thanks for all the help to date. I may hopefully soon have some good pictures for all to share in.

I believe it's to restrict the loader to accomodate the lower gpm and psi of the 70 series hyd pump.

I had the 80 FEL on my 970. It's a pin-on bucket model - the 440 is a Q/A loader.
