loader pallet forks

I'd like some feedback on what loader pallet forks seem easier to use, the kind that you have to pull a pin and lock or the type that slides on a bar. Thanks.

Mine slide, and are nice, because I can walk up to them and push them into place, or when I am in the woods, i push them against a log to slide them over. If you sidehill with them empty, they do slide to the low side!

I can't say one would be "easier" to use than the other, but when I built mine I made the sliding on the round bar style...and while they are perfectly useful, they do move on their own when driving without a load on them so I have to re-adjust them often. If I where to do it again I would make them locking.

I have the locking type. You can rotate the pins 180 degrees and they won't lock.

if you have a quick attach loader up front, there are alot of pallet fork units for sale on ebay for 400-600 range, with 2000-3000# ratings. i was going to make my own also, but heck....i can buy them almost cheaper than making them

Adjusting the locking type is pretty easy if you tip them almost vertical when making the adjustment.
