Loader problem

I had a hydraulic leak over the weekend that I lost a significant about of oil (replaced about 6 gallons). After letting it sit for a while (before adding fluid) I noticed the loader was extremely slow so I shut it down. I didn't use it again until I put more oil in.

Now the loader up/down function is slow and feels "weak". It will not lift the tractor anymore. The bucket curl, grapple, and backhoe are all as strong as ever but the loader up and down is definitely off. One thing I noticed is when disconnecting the up/down hoses one of them immediately starts sucking air back into the cylinder.

Anyone have any ideas?

Sucking air means there is a vacuum being drawn for some reason. Since all other functions work properly I would start by cycling the loader full stroke a few times to see if the operation changes. If not try swapping the functions / hoses from the lift lower to the tilt curl.

If still no change you will have to start looking for problems in the lift lower circuit.

So I got to thinking about what was happening. I checked the mail coupler in question and the nippet wasn't seating all the way. Also, when manually depressing it it was squeaky and sticking.

So I took another off and compared the 2. They were not the same. The coupler in question was messed up. The locking ring was out of place. I managed to use a screw driver and another tool to push the spring back in place and push the locking back into place. This fixed my loader issue.

I need to get a new coupler but at least I'm functional for the nice weekend.
