Loader question for YM226D

I am looking for a loader for my 226 D. I contactd KOYKER and the Tech guy said they do not have one that will fit. Does anyone have any suggestions on one that will work?

The guy is prob just jerkin you cuz u have Yanmar. Koyker loaders are put on Yanny's all the time. I don't know about your unit. I think though that your unit being a 3 number model would be a built for America unit? Try and Google "front end loader" and see what u find out.....

May or may not be jerking him around. You might put the same model Koyker FEL on 10 different tractors, but it is the mounting kit that is different. Koyker's money maker is the grey market tractor line. They have went out of their way develop mounting kits for the most abundant grey Yanmar models. If the YM226 has the same mounting points as one of the grey market models, you might be in business. Chances are that if there is a match, the guy at Koyker doesn't know about. I have a non-grey Kubota tractor that they don't have a mounting kit for.

I put a GreatBend/Bush Hog loader on a YM1820D. It is pretty much a match to your YM226. I often used the YM226 parts manual for the YM1820. I also had a YM1802D with a Koyker loader. Again a close clone to the YM226.

Jim,

I believe the tech is telling you that the FEL kit is not available because they haven't made the primary support (girdle) to attach the rest of the loader on for your specific model.

So far, we have purchased two loaders to match the size and horse power of the tractor, including all the hydraulics, pins and hardware - including the wrong support. We have designed our own with 5/16" plate for the primary support with 3/8" diagonal gussets forward to the engine frame bolts, and reward to the transmission threaded bosses. This design spans the area where one would normally split the tractor for clutch repair. We have done it this way so that it doesn't amplify the weakest section of the tractor.

The measurements are critical and so is welding level and square....but it is not difficult to lay it out, cut the metal and tack weld it all together. Even if your not comfortable doing it from square one, a good fabrication shop should be able to do it in a day for a few hundred dollars. I just didn't want to wait for someone to invent one because I needed it now. And you can make the support fit any manufacturers loader.

No question about it. Koyker, who built their compact loader business on specializing in fitting Yanmar grey models, would jerk someone around because they had a Yanmar. FACT is that Koyker does not list any domestically sold Yanmar models in their catalog, likely because no one ever brought them one to fit. You could do a search on their website (where they DO actually list Yanmar) and see the LONG list of Yanmars they do make mounts for.

I have had my fill. Today has just been a lousy day, and this is the straw that put the camel down. I go through these forums and the same people are putting out vague and frequently erroneous information. Maybe after a respite I'll feel like coming back, but for now....so long to those who post and read for help and fun, and good riddance to those who post for reasons I am thankful I do not understand.

Jim, Mark777 gave you good information. If you can find a fabricator willing to make the mounts, get a 120 Koyker loader. Sorry to go off on your thread. I just don't see how some comments contribute at all.

Hey Jim, I have a BushHog 1846QT loader on my 226D, loader is probably a little undersized for the tractor, it is definately not as heavy duty as the original ym loader, however it does a good job, but it has its limitations, it is not a bulldozer. I have a 48 inch bucket on mine and I can fill it with whatever I want (concrete or wet sand )and it will lift it. 60 inch bucket is an option if you want to cover the tire tracks, but you might not be able to lift a full bucket of heavy stuff.800# lifting capacity, what is about what the ym loader was. Bushhog does make an frame for the 226, comes with everything but the hoses to hook up to the tractor, installed it by myself in about 6 hours or so. Overall not a bad little loader for the 226. keep in mind that even a light or medium loader is still better than no loader at all. PM me if you have any more questions Pete

I made some good friends on this board with the VN rebuild thing.
If you want folks to like ya just tell them that u like your VN rebuild and they will come out of woods to be your buddy. They will show you respect, kind words, and they are so open minded. Since LMTC's living depends on this board and mine don't I will quit posting. (at least for awhile) I would hate for him to give up on something so important to him. I Just found this board entertaining more than anything else....
