Yanmar YM220
I have a YM220 that I have been thinking about putting a loader on. I have no idea where to look or how much I can expect to pay.

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks,
Keith

There are many after-market loader makers out there, such as
Woods, Westendorf, SMC, Allied, etc. You will be greatly
restricted by who supports that tractor, since it is not a
common or mainstream brand/model. If you find one, expect to
pay 3000-4000 for the the parts, plus shipping.

Each manufacturer sells thru dealers, not directly, so look at
their websites and ask them for a dealer near you if they have
one that fits.

I wouldn't put a loader on a 2wd compact tractor, but you can add Koyker to the above list.

I don't know why not:rolleyes:

I'm perfectly happy with a loader on my 2wd even with turf tires. I can do every thing I need to do with the loader.

I have a loader on my 1610D and and can't imagine not having 4wd. If I put it into 2wd and try and dig in a big load of soil or rock, it is night and day difference. In fact, I use my diff lock and 4wd all the time when moving dirt. 2wd with loader is okay for easy stuff I suppose.

Maybe it's the difference in the weight of the 1610 and 2020, But I have no trouble completely loading my bucket in rock or dirt. And you can't do any better than a fully loaded bucket.

I would send you to Koyker first. Several dealers who post here regularly, sell Koyker. When i was looking for a loader, i found very few who made mounts for Yannies. I ended up finding a used Yanmar loader, but i did get reasonable quotes from a couple dealers who frequent this forum...... just happened across the used loader before i bought new.

Ductape,
Did you ever get that rusty old loader cleaned up and painted?:D I remember the pictures when you bought and installed it. You had a load of firewood.
Did you connect to the hydraulics in the standard method of cutting the line or did you connect to a block under the seat? I am trying to remember? I am thinking about a loader too and have a 1510D.

Mike,
I have not painted it yet.... spring has barely sprung here though. I still hope to do it before too long. I need to get some bucket hooks welded on first though. I did not cut the hydraulic pressure line. I tied into the hydraulic block under the seat. It was very easy once i got my hands on a copy of the factory manual. The hardest part was finding the correct pipe plug to install, no one locally had one in stock. If you want.... PM me and i may be able to scan and email you the pages, or i'd even mail you a hard copy if need be. Another TBN member did just that for me.... from the UK no less. I suspect you will need metric hardware, where mine was SAE, but i'm sure the process is the same.
